Inspired by a couple people "Mother's Homeschool Journals" today I realized I need to
1) take more pix through the week
2) write in my Mothers Homeschool Journal again on a weekly basis!!! I do enjoy doing so.
In my life this week.... Life has been humm awkward. I have a new goal to start using my iPhone less and my time more wisely. I'm noticing just how my sweet, fun, iPhone has become a horrible habit. It seriously looks like it's glued to my hand. I love technology but I'm thinking satan is on to something and knows I waste away a lot of time view things on it. Craigslist, Facebook, Blogs, Email, Email, Email, TEXTING, TEXTING, TEXTING!!!!!!! It's causing some major problems in my life and I'm really close to going back to having a simple cell phone with less tools on it. Also in my life this week I've been desiring change. I'm hoping to join a gym soon, I really have to make some changes in this area of my life as well as the cell phone issue. I'm begining to watch what I'm eating and drinking and next is to again stop spending so much time consumed by computers and cell phones and get my rear in gear!!! Yesterday I went to the store and bought milk, bread and veggies and fruits. There were no other items in my shopping cart and it felt amazing. Today I made myself a juice with so many different things in it, it was brown. LOL but It tasted fine and felt great to know I was making an effort and eating/drinking healthy. Also made another at Lunch this time it was greenish brown and again satisfying. Hopefully after a few days of this then I will see the difference on my scales as well as mentally!!!
In Our Homeschool This Week......This has been a rough week keeping a good routine but yet not boring your kids and making school inspiring is hard for me to grasp. I love routine and consistency, but I admit things get old and with four kids I have to remember to meet all their needs yet inspire them all too. So if you have any ideas please share I'm open to them. ;) I started reading "The Borrowers" with my kids and they seem to enjoy it. To help them read better we take turns I read and they repeat so they notice how the punctuation in the book looks and how it's meant to be read. I hope this helps them improve their reading and I find it enjoyable to read with them. Lastly I created "The Brady Academy Time Line" in our basement hallway. We will be charting everything we learn about so we can see where and when it took place in history. It's going to be fun. We will be charting everything family timelines and bible timelines, and life too.
Places we're Going/People We're seeing.....We are Fasting this Sunday this is something we do every month on the first Sunday of the month as a whole with our Church throughout the world. When I first joined the church this didn't totally agree with me but I've come to love what fasting does to my spirit as well as my body!! I'm grateful for it. We are also having the men from church over to cut wood tomorrow and Sunday we are going to eat a yummy dinner at a friends house. Oh yeah and tomorrow the girls and I are going to a Baby shower. BreAnne reminded me that she's never been to a baby shower so I'm sure she will have fun. And tonight is DATE NIGHT!!!! Loving me a DATE NIGHT!!!!
What I'm Reading and What I've Read........okay so right now I have a lot of things to read .... I'm reading "Leadership Education The phases of Learning" by Oliver and Rachel DeMille. I'm enjoying it but because it is an informational book I find it harder to find time to quiet things so I don't miss anything good. I have read the HUNGER GAMES... the first book. Don't think I will read the rest I don't like endings that don't end in happiness. It really gets to me to take that much time to read a book to find out that it ends in a manner that leaves to hanging and isn't happy!!!! I'm also reading the Fourth Turning Okay so I'm listening to it and it's one of those books that's making me realize I know NOTHING about history! So it's inspiring me to learn all I can about the past! It was made me realize I needed a timeline in my house to truly get a visual of how history repeats itself.
Photos of the Week......... I will have to take some of the time line but for right now I only have the Wednesday before last Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquett that my husband and I had to make an obstacle course for I will post those pix. I really didn't blog about it but it was a military theme so we made a boot camp obstacle course for the boys to go through.

My Homeschool Mothers Journal
In My Life This PAST Week...............I have been super busy! I have been on the go so much I have desired just an evening in.......and I finally got ONE. lol So last week I wasn't home Mon-Wed. and thought I would have to be gone Mon-Fri. But along came Thursday and the football game was cancelled due to too much rain in Oklahoma (sigh of relief). I was able to finally stay at home. I also made some yummy calzones. And then Friday was a very nice day to catch up on all the much needed duties of Home, and that evening our ward had a bbq and served us tri-tip steak. YUMMY! Then on Saturday evening I enjoyed some service at our stake center in Springfield where we put together quilts and back packs for foster children in Springfield. They two fed us a wonderful dinner, and as a Daughter of God I felt very special. The table we set elegantly, we served as sisters, were uplifted by each other, and then we listened to Women's General Conference via satellite. What a great night. I was able to go with a sweet lady that I enjoy spending time with and learning from. Thanks "Lady S" I'm grateful we were able to spend some time together.
In Our Homeschool this past Week............We got into a rut and things felt very bogged down. We are changing this up this coming week!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey it happens.
Other things My kids have done this week.........My youngest son has hunted for a few squirrels and is learning a lot. My youngest daughter and I went to the swap meet and I bought a pair chickens a hen and a rooster. As I was getting ready to walk away my daughter wanted to ask about a white pair. She ended up buying a pair of black tail Japanese Bantum's for $6.75. She was thrilled. My oldest daughter and oldest son went to work with Dad at the end of the week, and enjoyed some time with him.
Places We Went...............................We enjoyed "The Lion King" in 3D @ the downtown "Hollywood Theater" With our friends the "A" Family! Thanks "A" Family. We had a good time. We have also been to football practice, Ward bbq's and a fun Birthday Party on Sunday with the "O" Family.
My favorite things this past week.............Having an evening of NOTHING to do!!!
Things I Worked on this past week..............I have made some cute scarves out of yarn and I'm learning how to make them better each one I do.
I'm Praying for.....................Personal Strength with many areas I'm dealing with.

In My Life This Week.......I took time to paint my fingernails, and get pix off my camera card, and I did a little bit of shopping!!! It's been a great week.
In Our Homeschool This Week........We accomplished more on our Declaration of Independence Lapbook and had a blast doing them. We finally started our language arts with Alpha and Omega Life Pacs. We are continuing to work on our consistency and helping each other stay focused (we often have problems with distracting one another during school work).
Places Were Going and People We Might See.......We have been so many places you would think we had all the gas money in the world..........but we don't we are just sacrificing in other areas ;) Practices 2 nights a week, mutual on Wednesdays, Games this week in Tulsa, OK and Willard, Mo. We been to friends houses to enjoy speedy toys, Friends houses for bbq's and I My husband and I finally did celebrate our 16th anniversary on our date night Friday!!! So sad I'm going to miss MNO this week. I hope all the other Moms have a wonderful time, and hopefully I will make it next time!!!!
My Favorite Things this Week......That my week went better than last week.
Things I'm Working On.........My Faith, Faith in every direction of my life!
I'm Reading.........Finished the Help! It was alright, I wasn't overly impressed with the ending but the book was okay. I did finish "Pride and Prejudice" but I'm going through it again because I feel like I didn't catch everything. I'm REALLY LOVING IT!!!!!
My Personal Scripture Study........I'm going to work a little more on being submissive to the spirit during this time of my day. I have loved my scripture study, however since football started my time has been a little crazy and I'm tired when we get home and that's when I was having my personal study time. So wish me luck this week.
I'm Grateful for.....My Daughters, I was able to spend time with just them on Saturday as the boys went to St. Louis with dad to work. My girls are growing up so fast and it was nice to get out and do a bit of shopping with them and just hang out with them.
I'm Praying for......My husband's safe trip this week up North to S. Dakota and back home.

My Homeschool Mothers Journal
September 1st, 2011
In My Life This Week.......I have had a sluggish week, with a feeling of being unorganized and in a fog. I have not been able to pin point just one area that has caused this but a few different things. It's been a tough week.
In Our Homeschool This Week........We haven't done anything new, we have continued on the path we started on and I think this is one of the problems with my week. We need to adjust our schedule to our needs.
Places Were Going and People We Might See.......Skyler plays his first game tomorrow night and so we will be traveling to Oklahoma tomorrow, it being the holiday weekend I hope we are just going to relax at home. But we shall see what the weekend provides.
My Favorite Things this Week......Were some of the things my kids said. My youngest was doing math and having some problems. And as I was explaining it to her, she finally got it by saying, "Well, WAG MY TAIL" I laughed so hard, it was hilarious. And another thing that has lit up my life this week is after every practice my son gets my attention and says in front of his brother and sisters, "Thanks mom for taking me to practice!" I have to be prepared on football night and one night I forgot to make us dinner to take with us so we waited to eat until we got home at 9:30pm. The next night I was way prepared and he said, "Mom, thanks for taking me to practice and being so prepared!" Melted my heart knowing he's taking time each night to be grateful for me. Another favorite this week was taking some time for myself by reading. I will admit I threw my hands up a few times this week as things just felt overwhelming and by picking up a couple books have helped me.
Things I'm Working On.........I'm still including soda! It's still haunting my life. It's such a hard habit to break. And continuing to try and figure out the right schedule for our family. ;)
I'm Reading.........Finally I have read this week. In the car we have listened to the Anne of Avonlea book and Anne of the Island audio book. It's been fun and then I started listening to Pride and Prejudice, however the kids are not as interested in this one. hehe At the long football practices I'm reading the Help! and enjoying it as well.
My Personal Scripture Study........Hasn't felt as full filling this week, like I said my mood has been blah this week. I'm reading to start feeling good again and making some changes to help feel better.
I'm Grateful for.....My kids and their strength and My husband giving me encouragement this week and always!
I'm Praying for......Personal strength physically and spiritually! And personal organizational help.

My Homeschool Mother's Journal
August 26th, 2011
In My Life This Week.......Life has moved quite quickly this week. My youngest son joined a local football team and is now one of the newest players on The Lighthouse Christian Chargers. We are traveling about 45 minutes to practice each night, and practice is from 5-8:30. We have been arriving around 4:30 to make sure he has time to meet the boys and pass the ball a bit before practice. I've also kicked into gear and been working out better this week. No more slacking off for me. So today my body is tender. ;) In a good way, it hurts enough to make me feel good about what I'm doing and it makes me get up and feel tight, so that if I don't work out I feel it worse. The workout helps me stretch those tight muscles out and feel better. Now if I could just get a grip on not drinking soda. I have slowed down I only have it a couple times a week now but still I know its not good for me.
In Our Homeschool This Week........We started off amazing and then we've tried to squeeze in this football thing and I'm noticing that I'm going to need to redo a few things and plan on doing a couple subjects on the road. So Math is going well. I'm enjoying the Math Mammoth, I also had a friend recommend the Life of Fred and I think I'm going to try it soon. And another friend just happen to have the "Life of Fred Pre-Algebra 1 with Biology" that she loaned me. Its not where I want to start my boys but it is nice to be able to get a good look into the material. We are all still loving History. We didn't get to any of our lapbook this week. The house had suffered because of the football and I couldn't pull out sissors and glue projects with a Happy Heart so I just skipped the lapbook and took off on some extra Story of the World. With that said I realized I now need the cds because I could get the story of the world out during our travel time to practice!!! I also intend to pick up some sort of Foreign Language cds.(if you have any ideas please pass them my way). With this Football team we will be traveling to Kansas and OK for a few of the games. So that time in the car could be used wisely. Language Arts I still need to start. LOL I haven't gotten everything for this subject yet. I'm still on the fence about what I want to do for sure. But that's okay we are reading loads and Summarizing what we are reading which is better than nothing in my book. We also started some Copy Work for handwriting. I found a few downloadable things on Currclick that went alone with our history for copy work. It's quick and simple and they fly through it but hopefully they are noticing the grammar and the punctuation too.
Places Were Going and People We Might See.......Practice Practice Practice. LOL Two of my kids went to help dad this week. We will be catching up on their school on Saturday. And The rest of us have planned a day with friends today. We are doing the Library, the YMCA, the tedious errands, and then tonight PRACTICE and a PEP RALLY!!!!!! Really excited about the pep rally. Our son gets to see first hand how much fun Football is Off the field as well. I will try to take loads of pix.
My Favorite Things this Week......This might sound weird but One of my Favorites is My workouts. Mainly because I feel like I'm defeating that little voice that says, "You can do it LATER!" It makes me feel strong and healthy, plus it gives me determination to keep going. I do a lot of self talk while I'm working out. Ok my other favorite was this. Since Dad took two kids to work I've got to enjoy the other two. And my son that is taking football is a major Daddy's boy so I've had the priveledge to get in there and be the one whom he talks to more this week (hope that makes sense) Anyhow, so we've discussed and he's been grateful more than once and said to me, "Thanks Mom for taking me to practice!" Aww it's so nice to be thanked by your children! Football has been Busy but it's also a blessing because I'm forced away from the things I have been so busy with so our focus is more on them. The way it should be! I know another lesson for me in this life....So the last thing I'm saying was my favorite, can you tell I will never be able to just pick one hehe, last thing again has to do with football and my son. He said to me, "Mom, you know what I like about this team? I like that when you line up on the line of scrimmage you don't here kids cussing and being rude! This team is Different! Ahh sweet sweet music to my ears he desires to be different from the world. I'm grateful he is recognizing things and our teaching in our family is paying off. He truely likes this team because it feels comfortable. I'm proud of him. LOVEING HOMESCHOOLING and the families I'm meeting along the way. Thanks to all you whom I'm in contact with who are helping me by being our friends!!! I LOVE YOU ALL TOO!!!! OH ONE MORE THING hehe! I'm grateful my Oldest spent some amazing one on one with Dad Golfing this week. His confidence Soared!!!!
Things I'm Working On.........Okay so as I said before it's definitely the soda, and this week I'm adding reorganizing my scheduale to fit in this new Football Venture.
I'm Reading.........Yeah Right! Not reading this week. I barely have time to get the laundry done and get this typed up between everything else. but I will work on getting it scheduled in soon, so stay tuned
My Personal Scripture Study........Going great. Continuing to grow and learn.
I'm Grateful for.....Everyone of my Favorite things this week (see above My FAVORITE things this week)
I'm Praying for......Personal strength physically and spiritually!

My Personal Scripture Study......Has again proven difficult but I'm happy to say I've accoplished it. And it's always impressive to see how much I'm able to help my kids understand the scriptures in the mornings during our family scripture study because of my studies in the evening. I'm Grateful For................Living in this dispensation of time and the joys and trials I'm going through. I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to stay home and love and teach my children. I'm grateful for my husband who works very hard to make this possible.

My Homeschool Mother's Journal
In My Life This Week............I'm on a mission to get more organized. Organized in each little aspect of my life. My health, my family, homeschool, callings, hobbies, garden. I'm also feeling overwhelmed with my garden. It's growing like crazy and I'm not sure what to do with it all. I'm unsure when to pick my green beans, yep laugh if you want, I don't know when to pick them. they look all long and they are a bit fuzzy feeling. Does the fuzzy feeling go away before you pick them? I want to can them. LOL not sure how to can so I'm going to have to learn that one fast too.
In Our Homeschool This Week.......We are taking it easy. Not really structured just enjoying each moment. Boys are at scouts so they are learning tons and girls and I are at home tending the garden and chickens.
Places Were Going and People We've Seen.........Well the boys are in Hardy AK at camp Kia Kima. And The rest of us went to the country club yesterday while dad enjoyed some golf we swam with friends. It was a great way to enjoy the afternoon. Tonight it's the homeschool used curriculum sale. Woohoo.
My Favorite Thing This Week.........was watching my girls find new ways to occupy themselves without their brothers around!
Things I'm Working On...............Garden and finding ways to be more productive in Homeschooling.
I'm Reading.......................I haven't read any books and typing that makes me feel quilty, but I have enjoyed reading up on other homeschool mom's blogs and getting fresh ideas.
I'm Grateful For................My freedoms that we are all still able to enjoy!
I'm Praying For.................Help to get more organized in all areas of my life.Pictures of My Week............. Skyler and Michael at scout Camp My Garden I have 3 4x8 beds.
