Silver Dollar City with Friends

Fun at Silver Dollar City with Friends

Tomato Soup Cleans the Copper!!!!

So after boiling over tomato soup a few times I realized every time it boils over I would have a shiny copper spot where the soup touched the copper part of the pan.  So this week after everyone was finished with their lunch I put the remaining soup into a pie plate heated it up in the microwave and then set my pans in it an left them over 30 mins.  Came back and they were shiny.  Washed off the soup and viola a clean pan.  No Scrubbing with steel wool or anything else.  Hope this has helped you in some way.

Mothers Homeschool Journal

Inspired by a couple people "Mother's Homeschool Journals" today I realized I need to
1) take more pix through the week
2) write in my Mothers Homeschool Journal again on a weekly basis!!! I do enjoy doing so.

In my life this week.... Life has been humm awkward.  I have a new goal to start using my iPhone less and my time more wisely.  I'm noticing just how my sweet, fun, iPhone has become a horrible habit. It seriously looks like it's glued to my hand.  I love technology but I'm thinking satan is on to something and knows I waste away a lot of time view things on it.  Craigslist, Facebook, Blogs, Email, Email, Email, TEXTING, TEXTING, TEXTING!!!!!!!  It's causing some major problems in my life and I'm really close to going back to having a simple cell phone with less tools on it.  Also in my life this week I've been desiring change.  I'm hoping to join a gym soon, I really have to make some changes in this area of my life as well as the cell phone issue.   I'm begining to watch what I'm eating and drinking and next is to again stop spending so much time consumed by computers and cell phones and get my rear in gear!!!   Yesterday I went to the store and bought milk, bread and veggies and fruits.  There were no other items in my shopping cart and it felt amazing.  Today I made myself a juice with so many different things in it, it was brown.  LOL  but It tasted fine and felt great to know I was making an effort and eating/drinking healthy.  Also made another at Lunch this time it was greenish brown and again satisfying. Hopefully after a few days of this then I will see the difference on my scales as well as mentally!!!
In Our Homeschool This Week......This has been a rough week keeping a good routine but yet not boring your kids and making school inspiring is hard for me to grasp.  I love routine and consistency, but I admit things get old and with four kids I have to remember to meet all their needs yet inspire them all too.  So if you have any ideas please share I'm open to them.  ;)  I started reading "The Borrowers" with my kids and they seem to enjoy it.  To help them read better we take turns I read and they repeat so they notice how the punctuation in the book looks and how it's meant to be read.  I hope this helps them improve their reading and I find it enjoyable to read with them.  Lastly I created "The Brady Academy Time Line" in our basement hallway.  We will be charting everything we learn about so we can see where and when it took place in history. It's going to be fun. We will be charting everything family timelines and bible timelines, and life too.
Places we're Going/People We're seeing.....We are Fasting this Sunday this is something we do every month on the first Sunday of the month as a whole with our Church throughout the world.  When I first joined the church this didn't totally agree with me but I've come to love what fasting does to my spirit as well as my body!!  I'm grateful for it.  We are also having the men from church over to cut wood tomorrow and Sunday we are going to eat a yummy dinner at a friends house.  Oh yeah and tomorrow the girls and I are going to a Baby shower.  BreAnne reminded me that she's never been to a baby shower so I'm sure she will have fun.  And tonight is DATE NIGHT!!!!  Loving me a DATE NIGHT!!!!

What I'm Reading and What I've Read........okay so right now I have a lot of things to read .... I'm reading "Leadership Education The phases of Learning" by Oliver and Rachel DeMille.  I'm enjoying it but because it is an informational book I find it harder to find time to quiet things so I don't miss anything good.  I have read the HUNGER GAMES...  the first book.  Don't think I will read the rest I don't like endings that don't end in happiness. It really gets to me to take that much time to read a book to find out that it ends in a manner that leaves to hanging and isn't happy!!!!  I'm also reading the Fourth Turning  Okay so I'm listening to it and it's one of those books that's making me realize I know NOTHING about history!  So it's inspiring me to learn all I can about the past!  It was made me realize I needed a timeline in my house to truly get a visual of how history repeats itself.

Photos of the Week......... I will have to take some of the time line but for right now I only have the Wednesday before last Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquett that my husband and I had to make an obstacle course for I will post those pix.  I really didn't blog about it but it was a military theme so we made a boot camp obstacle course for the boys to go through.

Valentines, Pottery & Annie

We've had a really fun week. Monday was fun with a Family Home Evening on Service and then the kids got to open their valentines from their sweet G-Ma's I mean FRIENDS, Trish and Pat.  They love getting mail from them.   Then, I didn't get any pictures of it but,  it snowed about 3-4 inches on Monday night and then it melted on Tuesday (Valentines Day).  The kids had a blast with friends on Tuesday.  They snowboarded and sledded all day  from 7:45am to 3pm  they were wiped out by bedtime.   What a fun valentines day.  Then it was nasty raining on Wednesday and we had some errands to run with Dad.  Dad surprised us girls and dropped us off at the pottery studio for some painting of pottery. We love the owners of P3 Pottery, and were happy to spend some time with them at their studio.  Then Thursday night we had tickets to go see "Annie" at the Landers Theater in Spfd.  It was a great show.  2 of our friends were in it and we enjoyed watching them in their Character. And to my surprise a good friend of mine had tickets to the show too, and we got to chat and catch up a little.  Wonderful seeing you Melissa.

What an eventful week we've had.  It was great we hadn't spent much time with friends for a while and having kids their own age to play with for valentines couldn't have been better.

It's been a long time!!!!

It's been so long since I posted.  We have been very busy of course.  The changes in our lives have been many!  So lets see where to begin.  Last time I posted we were gearing up for Christmas.  Christmas has come and gone and we are already in Feb.  We have only had one day of snow and it wasn't very much and we didn't see it very long, it went away almost as fast as it came down.  lol   We have been very busy with school and church.  It seems like if a day opened up with free time it was filled just as fast with something else to consume us.........  So in order to get life back on track we have slowed everything down.  I was traveling to spfd 3 to 4 times a week and it was getting really old, so I slowed the traveling down and then I was still traveling to spd 1-2 days a week and was still unhappy with how much time I was wasting running everywhere for all sorts of things.   I am finally so excited to say I have slowed down................I haven't drove to spfd at all this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Yay for me.  On the sad side I took the girls out of voice and have had to decide what my highest priorities are.  They are not voice lessons and shopping trips,  they are getting my house in order with every needful thing.  Like what you might ask???  Okay I'll tell ya.   I was finding no time to organize school for the kids, no time to get my garden seeds ready and planted, no time to think for my self or read a good book, no time for my own studying.  I was seriously running all the time and not taking the time I needed to do what was REALLY needed in my home!   So here we are we have enjoyed time at home.  I finally got the laundry caught up and the panty cleaned up a bit.  We have enjoyed school time again without being distracted with having to leave in the next hour or so.  We have enjoyed having time to read and go outside to play and run (aka FREE TIME)  I've made dinner and baked bread,  I planted those little pepper seeds and tomato seeds.  My kids have seemed happier and I'm not spending so much on eating out or putting gas in the van.  I can actually feel myself becoming a happier person.

A couple new things here are the 4 goats we are now raising.  We were hoping they would have kids soon but not sure they are even going to.  I guess there is still time, I'm not totally sure they are even bred which makes for a very frustrating time.  I have been very tempted to run them to the vet for ultra sounds so I know if i need to be watching for heat cycles.  I have read reread and reread books and articles and websites, trying to figure out how to take care of goats.  Dennis fixed them some shelter and a we all worked on a fence for them (which we will have to rebuild soon because goats are hard on fences)and they all seem to be happy and healthy.
Here are some pix of them and their cute selves...............................
This is Aunna she is our oldest and largest she is 6 yrs old and is a Nubian Goat
This is my favorite, not sure why but I really like her the best  This is SASSY LADY, she is 2 years old and she is a pure French Alphine Goat.
This is Daisy, she is probabally the prettiest and I'm guessing she is 1 to 2 years old.  She is also a Nubian Goat
Here is Daisy with BreAnne.  They are very friendly but Daisy seems to like to chew on our clothes the most out of them all.
See they are very friendly.  Natalie wanted a pix of her with her Japanese chicken Annie
Last but not least is the youngest not quite a year old this is LITTLE ONE,  yep that's her name.  She had horns at the time of this pix but they have fallen off since this pix.  She too is a pure French Alpine Goat.
And that's our herd.  We been busy with other things to but none of the other things are marked with photos.  Thanks for reading I will hopefully be blogging more real soon!!
