Baker Creek Village in Mansfield, MO

Yep I needed a day out,  I think my kids did too, so we called a couple friends and decided to visit the Baker Creek Seed Company on Wednesday.  It was fun!  Here are some of the pix

See the isle of seeds above?  Well that's just the flowers there are like 4 or 5 times that many seeds!  I wanted to get some seeds to start for my garden but I couldn't figure out which ones I needed because there was so many to choose from.

Well, once we got past all the seeds we went outside to wander around and found they had just as many different kinds of Chickens as they did seeds!  I've been telling Dennis that I wanted to get some chickens and after going here I'm feeling not only overwhelmed about my garden seeds, but how in the world am I going to figure out what kinds of chickens to get???????????????????????   Please someone help me!!!!!!
We got to go into all the little shops here and they were really neat to explore.  We were told in May they have a really fun festival with tons of vendors.  You might want to visit them in May.  I'm adding a link to their website HERE  Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds

What Matters Most?

So I've had a couple of crummy days, Not because of anything specific just because...... Sometimes I can't explain my thoughts and feelings, sometimes I just get into a funk and it takes me a few days to get over it.  So yesterday I took time to update my blog and listen to "The Mormon Channel", it's an online Radio station with music, inspirational talks, and conversations with members of our religion and other religions. Anyway, yesterday I cam across a conversation going on with a Stephanie Nielson, the same inspiring woman who blogs at Nienie Dialogues.  I was reading her blog this morning an came across this You Tube Video that I have posted here.   And after reading and watching ...................................yep I feel refreshed and ready to grab up all the Blessing I currently posess and FULLY ENJOY THEM TODAY!  For Today right Now is All I HAVE!  And if tomorrow comes great and if it doesn't great because I'm going to make the most of Today!

Once again from the words of the old turtle on Kung Fu Panda " Yesterday is History, Tomorrow is A Mystery, But Today is A GIFT, That's why we call it The PRESENT"

Hope Everyone who visits today watches this video and it INSPIRES YOU! to have a great day and enjoy your PRESENT!

My Many Adventures

My Many Adventures

More Snow Pix

I'm so ready to stop taking pix with WHITE backgrounds.  They are getting super boring now.  Thank goodness these pix are so interesting because of the action in them or they would just be more boring snow pix.  ack!  Anyway, Saturday our Niece and Nephew, plus 3 neighbors and 1 friend came over to enjoy an action packed day of sledding, snowboarding, snow ball fights, and of course munching on the snow ( I saw a lot of people with a handful of snow at their mouths).   Here are a few of the hundreds of pix I literally took.

Homemade Stawberry Muffins

Ok so they don't taste like the ones from the box mixes, but they are still good.  I had some Freeze Dried Strawberries in my food storage and needed to find a way to use them.  This is what I came up with!

Strawberry Muffins

"Strawberry muffins that can be made with fresh or frozen strawberries. If using frozen berries, thaw slightly, then chop with a knife."
Ingredients:
1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup milk
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup white sugar
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped strawberries
Directions:
1.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) oil an 8 cup muffin tin, or use paper liners.
2.
In a small bowl, combine oil, milk, and egg. Beat lightly. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. Toss in chopped strawberries and stir to coat with flour. Pour in milk mixture and stir together.
3.
Fill muffin cups. Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 minutes, or until the tops bounce back from the touch. Cool 10 minutes and remove from pans.

Good Bye New York Snow, Hello Missouri Snow

Skyler snowboarding down the hill at home

Deano prepared to enjoy the snow in the storm

Everybody checking out how this snow is going to be for sledding and snowboarding on

After the storm Dennis trying his turn on the snowboard.  I'm grateful he is still capable of playing, and has the desire to still be young and so much FUN!

This is a pile our neighbor made while plowing the snow off the road.  The kids had three ways to exit/enter.

This house is not very pretty but I was trying to capture how large the ice sickles are on the roof.  Also look at the stick in the front yard to measure the snow.  I can't imagine the snow level getting up toward the top of the stick. That would be a lot of snow.

This is lake Erie,  lol nope I don't see any water either but there are these little huts out on the frozen lake and snow mobile tracks leading to and from them, where people are going back and forth fishing.  hehe  We had never saw anything like this except on movies.  Another new site to see.

Some of the beauty we drove through

If you look way out past the trees you will see a hint of blue,  Yep we finally found water in Lake Erie.  Whew.  Once we found the water on lake Erie we headed back to the highway to complete our trip!
So we arrive home on the 29th of January to a beautiful 70 degrees and Sunshine,  2 days later we get plastered with 9 inches of snow with ice on the bottom.  Here are some pix of the trip home and then the fun days to follow.
